Pus cells in urine means that your urine contains such amount of pus cells that is greater than what it should be. Normally, a male has up to 5 pus cells/hpf (high power field of microscope) and a female may have 10 pus cells/hpf. Some of the common causes of pus cells in urine include urinary tract infection, kidney infection, sexually transmitted diseases, or an abscess near the kidney.
