Home Remedies for Thicker Eyebrows

Castor Oil grows eyebrows thicker effectively

Castor oil has been used since ages as a beauty treatment for many conditions including hair loss. This oil is magical for hair, eyelashes and eyebrows. Castor oil is naturally antibacterial and anti fungal but what is more beneficial for hair growth is the nutritional composition of this oil. It has vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids. The high content of ricinoleic acid in Castor oil makes it effective for skin and hair as it balances the pH levels and help grow hair by providing it conducive environment.

Get this:

  • Castor oil
  • Cotton ball (optional) 

Do this:

  • If using cotton ball, dip it in the castor oil.
  • Apply oil to your eyebrows with the help of this soaked cotton ball. You can also use your finger tips to apply oil to your eyebrows.
  • Massage into your eyebrows for about 2-3 minutes. Do this gently.
  • Leave it for about half an hour
  • Then wash off with lukewarm water or clean it using a gentle cleanser.
  • Do this daily and see your eyebrows grow thicker in about 4-6 weeks. 

Precaution- sometimes castor oil causes skin irritation. If you are allergic to this oil, you may develop rashes. So, it is a good idea to conduct a patch test before you apply this oil to get thicker eyebrows.

Coconut oil for growing thicker eyebrows

Rich in various vitamins and minerals, coconut oil too has been used since ages for various hair remedies. The proteins and fatty acids present in the oil nourish and promote growth of eyebrows.

Get this:

  • Coconut oil, preferably virgin oil 

Do this:

  • Take a few drops of coconut oil and apply to your eyebrows.
  • If the oil has become solid (coconut oil solidifies in cold temperatures), make it a little warm or rub it in your palms. Your body heat is enough to melt coconut oil.
  • Massage the eyebrows with the oil for a couple of minutes.
  • Leave the oil overnight or at lest for 1-2 hours.
  • Wash it of with warm water.
  • Do this daily to grow your eyebrows thicker. You might be able to see the results in about 6-8 weeks. 

Olive oil for thicker eyebrows

When you massage your eyebrows with olive oil, you help promote the blood circulation there. This is essential for hair growth. In fact, olive oil is not only good for growth of eyebrows only, it is also good for hair growth as it prevents the production of DTH hormone. This hormone promotes hair loss by making the hair follicle shaft narrow. So, now you know when you want to grow hair, olive oil is what you need.

Get this:

  • Olive oil- about half a teaspoon
  • Honey (optional)- few drops
  • Warm water 

Do this:

  • If using only olive oil, massage it into your eyebrows for 2-3 minutes, preferably before going to bed at night.
  • Leave it overnight and wash off with warm water in the morning.
  • If using honey with olive oil, mix both the ingredients well.
  • Massage your eyebrows with this mixture for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Leave it there for 30-40 minutes.
  • Wash off with warm water.
  • Do this daily until you get desired thickness in your eyebrows. 

Sweet Almond Oil to grow thicker eyebrows

Sweet almond oil has high concentration of proteins and vitamins A, B and E. The fatty acids omega 9, 6 and 3 present in almond oil also help grow hair as well as protect hair from damages. Massaging with this oil may stimulate growth of hair in your eyebrows.

Get this:


  • Sweet almond oil 

Do this:

  • Take few drops of the oil and apply to your eyebrows
  • Massage your eyebrows gently with this oil for a couple of minutes
  • Leave it overnight or for several hours
  • Wash off with lukewarm water
  • Repeat daily 

Jojoba Oil for Thick Eyebrows

Jojoba oil is 98% monounsaturated fats and 2% saturated fats. This makes it capable of penetrating the hair follicles and strengthen hair fibers from the inside. Also rich in also rich in Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, and E, this oil can provide good nourishment to your eyebrows and help it grow thicker.

Get this:

  • Jojoba oil 

Do this:

  • Take a few drops of jojoba oil and apply this to your eyebrows
  • Massage gently for a couple of minutes
  • That’s all 

Do this daily even after your eyebrows get thicker so that the remain thick forever.

Sesame Oil for Thick Eyebrows

Sesame oil has excellent nourishing, healing and lubricating properties. This oil contains Vitamin E, B complex, and minerals like magnesium, calcium, phosphorus as well as protein. All these nutrients strengthen the hair from roots and give deep nourishment so that they grow quickly and in more numbers.

Get this:

  • Sesame oil 

Do this:

  • Massage sesame oil gently into your eyebrows
  • Do this daily
  • Wash off with warm water after keeping it there for hours or overnight. 

Flaxseed Oil for Thick Eyebrows

High omega-3 alpha linolenic acid content of flax seeds make them just the right ingredient for hair growth. Your eyebrows will get thicker when you massage them with oil made with flaxseed. In fact, you can also include flaxseed in your diet to give proper nourishment to your body.

Get this:

  • Flaxseed oil 

Do this:

  • Apply some oil to your eyebrows

Get this:

  • Onion- 1
  • Lemon juice (optional)- 1-2 tsp
  • Cotton ball

  • Grate the onion and extract its juice

  • Leave for half an hour or so
  • Wash off with warm water
  • If you can’t stand the smell even after washing off the onion juice, soak a cotton ball in lemon juice and wipe your eyebrows with this.

Egg Yolk for Thick Eyebrows

Hair is made of protein called keratin. Keratin is the essential component of hair. It is a fibrous protein forming the main structural constituent of hair, feathers, hoofs, claws, horns, etc. Eggs are good source of protein. Egg protein helps in rebuilding the damaged hair by filling in weakened spots along the hair strand. Egg yolks are also a rich source of biotin. This also helps your brows grow faster.

Get this:

  • Egg- 1
  • Cotton ball 

Do this:

  • Break the egg and separate its yolk from the white
  • Beat the egg yolk till you get a creamy consistency
  • Using the cotton ball, apply this beaten yolk to your eyebrows
  • Let it stay there for 20-30 minutes
  • Wash off with water
  • Repeat 1-2 times a week 

Milk for Thicker Eyebrows

Just like eggs, milk is also a rich source of protein. A diet low in protein is one of the major causes for thinning hair. And this is also true for thinning eyebrow hair. So, apart from including proteins in your diet, you can also use milk for topical application to grow your eyebrows thicker. There are two types of protein in milk. They are casein and whey and both of these proteins are beneficial for hair growth. Glutamine present in casein stimulates hair follicle growth cycle and thus is very useful in hair growth. You can take advantage of this property to grow your eyebrow hair.

Get this:

  • Milk
  • Cotton ball 

Do this:

  • Soak the cotton ball in milk
  • Massage your eyebrows with this cotton ball
  • Leave the milk on your brows for about 15-20 minutes
  • Wash off with water
  • You may repeat it several times a day. 

Aloe vera to grow Eyebrow Hair

Aloe vera, the miracle herb, has enzymes that nourish hair follicles. This herb excellently promotes hair growth and make your eyebrows grow faster and thicker. It can even make the skin near your eyebrows very soft.

Get this:

  • Aloe vera leaf
  • Coconut oil (optional) 

Do this:

  • Cut open the aloe vera leaf and scrape out its gel
  • Apply this gel to your eyebrows and massage for 2-3 minutes
  • Let it sit there for about half an hour and then wash it off with water
  • You may also add a few drops of coconut oil with aloe vera gel and then massage your eyebrows with this mixture for faster results. 

Hibiscus for Thicker Eyebrows

The beautiful hibiscus flowers and its leaves are an effective remedy for hair growth. In Ayurveda and is some other traditional medicines, this flower is use to contain hair loss and for preventing graying of hair too. Why is this flower good for eyebrows can be understood by looking at its nutritious components. It has amino acids, vitamins A, C and alpha Hydroxy acids along with other nutrients that make it good for stimulating hair growth.

Get this:

  • Hibiscus flower 

Do this:

  • Crush the flower to get its paste
  • Apply this to your eyebrows
  • Let it sit there for half an hour
  • Wash it off
  • Repeat daily to grow thick eyebrows 

Rosemary to grow Thick Eyebrows

Rosemary has been used for hair care since long. It is believed that regular usage of rosemary essential oil helps in stimulating hair follicles. This promotes hair growth. You may use this essential oil to grow your eyebrows thicker.

Get this:

  • Rosemary essential oil- 2-3 drops
  • Olive/sweet almond/ coconut/ jojoba oil- 1/2 tsp 

Do this:

  • Add the drops of rosemary oil to your choice of carrier oil
  • Massage your eyebrows with this oil for 2-3 minutes
  • Leave it overnight or for several hours.
  • Wash it off with water.
  • Repeat daily 

Some Tips for Growth of Eyebrows

  • Avoid too much tweezing. Over plucking and overtweezing, will make your eyebrows sparse. Go for threading, plucking or tweezing only when your eyebrows get out of shape and not every now and then.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals. If your eyebrows lotions and creams contain chemicals, switch them for natural ones. Use those having natural ingredients. Also, do not use them too much. They will clog the hair follicles and prevent hair from growing.
  • Minimize eyebrow make up. If you want natural growth of eyebrows, avoid making up your eyebrows with aggressive strokes of eyebrow pencils and other cosmetics.
  • Have nutritious diet. This is essential for any type of hair growth, for eyebrows too! Hair need all types of nutrients and a balanced diet rich of proteins, vitamins and minerals can only help you with long lasting hair growth of your eyebrows.
